China-Japan Seminar On Structural design of Tall Building was held on 23 September 2017 at School of Civil Engineering SCE), Chongqing University (CQU). 12 Japanese experts were invited to Chongqing, along with the representatives of CQU attended the seminar.
Wonderful speeches were delivered by experts from both Japan and China. Dr. Akira Wada gave a speech about Recent Earthquakes and The Need for New Concept for Earthquake Resistant Design, Dr. Masaharu Yasuda Rapid Diagnosis Systems Using Accelerometers for Seismic Damage to Tall Buildings, Mr. Takehito Kumano Structural Design of the Nakanoshima Festival Tower West That Achieved High-grade Seismic Performance; Dr. Xiaohua Li, from SCE, CQU, delivered his lecture about Experimental Studies on Seismic Performance of Irregular RC frame buildings in mountainous areas, Prof. Pu Yang Seismic Behavior of Self-Centering RC Column Base Joints, Assistant Prof. Chuanguo Jia Rosenbrock-based Integration Method and its Partitioned form for Structural Dynamic Problems.

Dr. Akira Wada, recipient of the 2011 Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal and Professor Emeritus of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, is considered to be a Japan’s leading expert in structural engineering.
Mr. Masaharu Yasuda is Senior Deputy Manager of Mori Building Co., Ltd’s Structural Engineering Department.
Mr. Masatoshi Tamari is a structural engineer of Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei.
