The 19th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ICSMGE) was in Coex, Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 17(Sun.) to 22(Fri.) September 2017. Professor Hanlong Liu and Professor Wengang Zhang,from SCE, were invited to attend this conference.

        On 21 September 2017, Professor Liu was select as the president of the Committee TC303, The International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). It is an honor and recognition, to not only Professor Liu himself, but also the subject geotechnical engineering in SCE, CQU, by the international geotechnical field.

        At the conference, Professor Liu delivered speeches about Advances in engineering practice and construction projects in China and Future activities of TC303, and Professor Zhang Ground Improvement for Ultra-Soft Hydraulic Fill Using A New Combined Method of Electro-osmosis, Vacuum and Surcharge Preloading.
