The first specialized elective course in English in SCE, Structural Concepts, was provided from 9 September 2017 to 15 September 2017 by Dr. Tianjian Ji as invited, a professor who works in University of Manchester, England, and Professor Zhaohui Chen, from SCE, CQU, was the teaching assistant. It was warmly welcomed by more than 70 students and teachers of civil engineering, architecture, architectural materials, who took the elective course or audited. 

During the time, teachers from Institute of Architectural Mechanics, Institute of Safety and Disaster Prevention Engineering, and Institute of Structural Engineering, SCE, discussed about teaching with Professor Ji from the aspects of curriculum settings, teaching evaluation methods, the combination of textbooks and teaching, and so on.
